Roze Filmdagen gave Schipper a sneak peek into the program of its 28th edition with the question: 'Which films from Roze Filmdagen 2025 would you like to see and why?'
"What’s more lesbian than a group of exes going on vacation together to a cabin in the woods while everyone wears flannel? This is the representation we want and deserve! This vibrant film explores friendship, humor, lesbian drama, why Canada is inherently gay, and the cracks in seemingly perfect relationships. Bring your ex to this one!"

"This undisputed cult film is a neon-colored cocktail of early 2000s pop music, over-the-top characters, insane special effects, and YouTube parodies that you’d usually only see in fever dreams. In other words, a perfectly campy fantasy to escape the grim outside world."

"This true story follows Mariasilvia Spolato, an iconic Italian feminist and the first Italian lesbian to come out publicly in 1972. Her coming out cost her everything; her job, her family, her home, and her safety. But instead of giving up, she became more determined than ever. She founded a feminist magazine, the Homosexual Liberation Front, and wrote books on queer emancipation. An incredibly inspiring figure we should all know more about!"

"This musically driven film tells the stories of female and transgender ex-prisoners in Buenos Aires. While it does not shy away from harsh realities, it never feels heavy. Instead, it bursts with joy, expressed through voguing, singing, and dancing, giving resilience an entirely new face."

"Nobody does 'lesbi-chic' quite like the French. This is the hilarious, original, absurd, and sometimes unsettling story of Mika’s red motorcycle, on which red objects, coins, scarves, or padlocks mysteriously appear daily. Someone is sabotaging her… but who? Together with her queer friend group, she spies on her motorcycle and unravels the truth. Watch this if you've ever wanted a hilarious French lesbian friend group or if you need inspiration for the gayest haircut possible."

"As Sabrina Carpenter said: Short and Sweet! Never sleep on the shorts during the Roze Filmdagen. These films are where the most innovation happens, often made on low budgets by young or new queer filmmakers. No compromises for big Hollywood budgets: just the stories that need to be told. Big or small, funny or tender, sad, lesbian, bi, queer, about exes, beauty, clothing, sex, and music. Let yourself be swept away by this short film selection!."

"This one seems very contemporary, with a modern take on what gaming means for queer people. It feels very of the moment, and the trailer looks very artsy." If you see that your barista is queer, you know the coffee you’re about to get will be the best ever. It’s that simple! It’s a mystery why there aren’t more queer barista romances, but finally, here we are. We follow Kali (the barista) and Mel (a photographer) in Brooklyn as their romance blossoms in a coffee shop. A beautifully shot film about transcendent love, Black culture, bisexuality, and the power of a good cup of coffee."

"Yeehaw, the year of the queer cowboy is in full swing! This delightful film presents a different version of the American Dream. One where queer and trans people are celebrated. And in this case, it takes place on a ranch full of queer rodeo performers and ranchers. Think Pink Pony Club, but as a feature film, packed with powerful metaphors that today’s America could, and should, learn from."

"German-born Marie had a perfectly predictable life until her husband suddenly left her at 51. Her world turns upside down, and she unexpectedly meets Fa, a confident, vibrant, and life-loving Iranian woman. This film joyfully screams in the best way possible: It’s never too late to fall in love. Sometimes, your great love is someone completely unexpected, but the moment you meet, you just know."
